Newcastle United open to selling Miguel Almiron

Newcastle United are open to selling Miguel Almiron in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on X that if Newcastle get a good offer for Almiron, then they will offload the midfielder.

Romano has noted that there was interest in Almiron from clubs in Saudi Arabia in the January transfer window. More clubs are showing interest in the 30-year-old Paraguay international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

The reporter wrote on X: “Miguel Almiron’s future remains open ahead of the summer transfer window. After Saudi Pro League move collapsed in January, more clubs are showing interest in the midfielder. Newcastle, open to selling Almiron in case of good proposal due to Financial Fair Play situation.”

Almiron has been on the books of Newcastle since 2019 when he joined from Major League Soccer club Atlanta United. The 30-year-old has scored 23 goals and given six assists in 177 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Almiron scored three goals and gave one assist in 23 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle this season.
