Romanian international striker Marius Niculae has returned to Dinamo Bucharest on a 400,000 Pound transfer. The move, initiated by Niculae, reunites the 27 year old with his first professional club, where he scored 43 goals in 100 matches from 1996-2001.

Niculae returns to his home country after a one year stint with Scottish Premier League side Inverness CT. Niculae quickly became a fan favorite with the club, scoring 10 goals in 35 matches and receiving the honor of Clydesdale Bank Player of the Month in Decemeber.

He returns to Dinamo, where he enjoyed the brightest years of his career, leading the Romanian league in scoring in 2000-01. On the strength of that season, he was transferred to Sporting Lisbon, where he played until 2005, scoring 14 times in 59 matches. He also spent the 2006-07 season with Standard Liege and FSV Mainz before joining Inverness.

Niculae has featured regularly for the Romanian national team since 2000, having 13 goals in 32 caps.
