Nottingham Forest eye Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho

Nottingham Forest want to sign William Carvalho from Real Betis in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that Forest, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship, have made Carvalho their “top priority for the midfield”.

Italian journalist Romano has added that talks between Forest and Betis are going on, and that the former European champions have “strong interest” in the 30-year-old Portugal international defensive midfielder.

Carvalho has been on the books of Betis since 2018 and has played over 100 league matches for the Spanish club. The 30-year-old made 20 starts and 13 substitute appearances in La Liga for Betis last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process. The Portuguese star made four starts and four substitute appearances in the Europa League last season.
