Competition: Segunda division

Market: Osasuna win

Odds: 11/10 @ Bet 365

With the chance to be crowned as Segunda champions, Osasuna will travel to the Estadio Nuevo Arcángel on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Cordoba may have arguably saved their best performances for the back end of the season, it is all too little too late for Rafael Navarro Rivas’ side. Despite recording a very rare clean sheet in their 0-0 draw away at fellow strugglers Rayo Majadahonda last week, Los Califas still find themselves sat 12 points adrift of safety with two matchups remaining. Along with shipping three the last time they faced off against Osasuna in the reverse fixture back in November, it has been Cordoba’s defensive issues which has been their major concern this year. Shipping 74 goals in Spain’s second-tier this year, no team in the division holds a worse defensive record than Friday’s hosts.

As for the visitors, while Cordoba might be enduring a battle at the foot of the table, Osasuna have marched towards their La Liga return. Coming off the back of another impressive display in their 2-0 win over Las Palmas last weekend, Jagoba Arrasate’s side hold a six-point buffer at the top of the table and another victory on Friday would confirm their status as champions. Now unbeaten in their last nine matches, a run that stems back to the 22nd of March, it has been Osasuna’s continued defensive resolve that has really caught the eye. The league leaders have now recorded five consecutive clean sheets and have not conceded a goal in nearly 500 minutes of action.
