Spanish forward José Antonio Reyes will have to miss Benfica’s match with Rio Ave this Sunday. The reason is not an injury or a suspension, but a missing document.

Benfica revealed on Friday that the player needs an International Certificate from the Portuguese FA in order to play, and this document failed to arrive up til now.

An anonymous source at Benfica explained that the delay is probably caused by a legal problem at Reyes’ previous club, Atletico Madrid.

It is however expected that Reyes will be available for the classic between Benfica and FC Porto on August 30th.
