FC Porto are the new leaders in the Portuguese Liga Sagres following a 2-4 win at Nacional Funchal, wehile Benfica crashed to a surprising 2-0 defeat at last-placed CD Trofense.

Nacional did take the lead through Edson Sitta on 14 minutes but second-half goals from Hulk and Cristian Rodriguez turned things around.

Fidalgo then equalised for the home side (2-2) in the 79th minute, but Lucho Gonzales netted in added time to hand Porto a valuable three points. Hulk went on to score for 2-4 even deeper into injury time.

Benfica counted on an easy win at Trofense but things didn’t go as planned. Reguila put the hosts ahead just before the break and Helder Barbosa doubled the advantage with 11 minutes to go.

As a result, Porto are now one point ahead of Benfica and Sporting Lisbon. Leixoes Matosinhos follow at another point.
