Belgium and Denmark will face each other in UEFA Nations League this week. The Group A2 game is slated to kick off at 7:45pm UK time at King Power in Leuven on Wednesday.

Belgium

Belgium are at the top of UEFA Nations League Group A2 at the moment with 12 points from five matches, two points clear of second-placed Denmark. Roberto Martinez’s side got the better of England 2-0 at home in their last group game on Sunday.

The Red Devils will be able to book their place in the UEFA Nations League finals next year with just a draw against Denmark. Given the form that Belgium are in at the moment and the quality of players manager Martinez has at his disposal, such as midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and striker Romelu Lukaku, they will fancy their chances of picking up all three points on Wednesday evening.

Team news:

Thomas Meunier and Alex Witsel picked up their second booking of the UEFA Nations League against England and will sit out of the match against Denmark. Leander Dendoncker could be back from injury.

Denmark

Denmark are second in UEFA Nations League Group A2 at the moment with 10 points from five matches, just two points behind leaders Belgium. Kasper Hjulmand’s side will head into the decisive game in the group on the back of a 2-1 victory over Iceland at home.

The Red and White will have to pick up all three points against Belgium in order to win the group and book their place in the finals next year. With Christian Eriksen turning on the style for the Danes against Iceland in their last game, the visiting team will be confident of defying the odds.

Team news:

Kasper Schmeichel might not line up between the posts for Denmark after a heavy collision during the match against Iceland. Eriksen is set to play the creator-in-chief’s role.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Belgium have scored 12 goals in five UEFA Nations League games.
Denmark have scored six goals in five UEFA Nations League games.
Belgium have conceded four goals in five UEFA Nations League games.
Denmark have shipped in three goals in five UEFA Nations League games.
In September 2020, Belgium beat Denmark 2-0 in Copenhagen.

Conclusion

While Denmark will not be easy pushovers and do have a team that can push Belgium all the way, Martinez’s side should get the job done. Belgium are in form and have the better team.

Prediction: Belgium to win 2-1

Best Odds: 7/1
