Cadiz and Real Madrid will lock horns with each other in La Liga this weekend. The match between Sergio González’s side and Carlo Ancelotti’s team will be held at the Nuevo Mirandilla and is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 pm UK time on Sunday.

Cadiz

Cadiz are an also-ran in La Liga and are among the clubs who could get relegated to the Segunda Division at the end of the season. They finished 14th in the league last season, and one suspects that they will be happy if they end up in a similar place this time around.

Sergio González’s side are 16th in the La Liga table at the moment with 10 points from 12 matches. Cadiz are three points above the relegation zone and are in real danger of getting relegated from the top flight of Spanish football at the end of the season.

Cadiz will head into the La Liga match against Real Madrid on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Getafe away from home in the league. It came after a win on penalties against Badalona in the Copa del Rey and followed a 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the league.

Team News:

Cadiz are likely to line up in a 4-4-2 formation against Real Madrid. Jeremias Ledesma will be in goal for the home team. Iza, Victor Chust, Javi Hernandez and Lucas Pires will be the four defenders. Robert Navarro, Rominigue Koumane, Ruben Alcarez and Darwin Machis will be the four midfielders. Roger Marti and Chris Ramos will be the two forwards for Cadiz against Madrid.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid are having a very good season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have already progressed to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League and are very much in the hunt for the La Liga title, like they always are. While Madrid have not been imperious, the signs are certainly very positive.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 32 points from 13 matches. Madrid are two points behind surprise leaders Girona and are two points ahead of defending champions and bitter rivals Barcelona, who are third. Atletico Madrid in fourth have 28 points from 12 matches and are also in the running for the La Liga title.

Madrid beat Valencia 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga before the international break. It came after a 3-0 victory over Sporting Braga at home in the UEFA Champions League which followed a goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano at home in the league.

Team News:

Real Madrid have a number of injury issues ahead of the match against Cadiz. Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois are long-term absentees due to knee injuries. Aurelien Tchouameni is on the sidelines with a broken foot, while Arda Guler has a muscular issue that will see him stay out of action until the start of December. Kepa Arrizabalaga, signed on loan from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, will not play until December due to a muscular problem.  Eduardo Camavinga has a knee ligament injury and could be out for two months, while Vinicius Junior has a thigh problem. Jude Bellingham may not play against Cadiz because of a should problem, but midfielder Daniel Ceballos is back in training after recovering from a muscular tissue.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Jude Bellingham has scored 10 goals and given 2 assists in 11 La Liga matches for Real Madrid.
  • Real Madrid have scored 28 goals in 13 La Liga matches this season.
  • Real Madrid have won 3 and drawn 2 of their last 5 La Liga games.
  • Cadiz have scored 10 goals in 12 La Liga games this season.
  • Cadiz have conceded 17 goals in 12 La Liga matches this campaign.

Conclusion

Real Madrid have a whole host of injury problems, and that is going to affect them. It is hard to see Los Blancos scored four or five goals, but they are still a much better team than Cadiz and should pick up all three points from the La Liga game.

Prediction: Real Madrid to win 2-1
