Juventus and Monza will face each other in Serie A this coming weekend. The match between La Vecchia Signora and I Biancorossi will take place at Juventus Stadium in Turn and is scheduled to kick off at 2pm UK time on Sunday.

Juventus

Juventus are 10th in the Serie A table at the moment with 23 points from 19 matches. The former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners are 11 points above the relegation zone and 23 points behind leaders Napoli. It shows just how poor Massimiliano Allegri’s side have been so far this season.

The Bianconeri are not going to win the Serie A title this season, and there is even doubt whether they will finish in the top four. Juventus are as many as 14 points behind AS Roma, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final UEFA Champions League spot.

Juventus will head into the Serie A match against Monza at Juventus Stadium this coming weekend on the back of a 3-3 draw with Atalanta at home in the league. It came after a 2-1 victory over Monza in Turin in the Coppa Italia and followed a 5-1 hammering at the hands of league leaders Napoli away from home in Naples in Serie A.

Team News:

Wojciech Szczesny will continue to start in goal for Juventus behind a three-man defence of Danilo, Bremer and Alex Sandro.

Serbia international striker Dusan Vlahovic and French midfielder Paul Pogba will be available from their respective injuries.

Adrien Rabiot and Manuel Locatelli will keep their places in the Juventus midfield.

Monza

Monza are 13th in the Serie A table at the moment with 22 points from 19 matches. Raffaele Palladino’s side are as many as 10 points above the relegation zone and are unlikely to get sucked into a relegation battle. I Bagai are only a point behind Juventus, and that shows just how good they have been so far this season.

I Brianzoli will head into the Serie A match against Juventus away from home at Juventus Stadium this coming weekend on the back of a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo in front of their own fans at Stadio Brianteo in the league. It came after a 2-1 loss to Juve in Turin in the Coppa Italia and followed a 3-2 victory over Cremonese in Serie A.

This is the first time that Monza are playing in Serie A. They won promotion from Serie B at the end of last season via the playoffs. Staying in the top division of Italian will be a success in itself for Monza.

Team News:

Monza will line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation for former Italian and European champions Juventus this coming weekend.

Michele Di Gregorio will be the goalkeeper behind a three-man defence of Marlon, Luca Caldirola and Armando Izzo.

Andrea Petagna will lead the line for Monza, with Patrick Ciurria and Gianluca Caprari behind them in attacking midfield.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Juventus have won 3 of their last 5 Serie A matches.
  • Juventus have scored 30 goals in 19 Serie A matches so far this campaign.
  • Monza have conceded 28 goals in 19 Serie A games so far this season.
  • Monza have not lost any of their last 5 Serie A games.
  • Dusan Vlahovic has scored 6 goals in 10 Serie A matches so far this campaign.

Conclusion

Juventus are not having the best of times, both on the pitch and off it. There is huge pressure on the team and at boardroom level. Monza will fancy their chances of winning at Juventus Stadium and will look to score a goal or two. However, former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners Juventus should get the job done in the end, as they have the better team.

Prediction: Juventus to win 2-1

Best Odds: 13/2
