Venezuela and Italy will face each other in a friendly international match this week. The game between the South American side and the European team will be held at the Chase Stadium in  Fort Lauderdale, United States of America, and is scheduled to kick off at 9 pm UK time on Thursday.

Venezuela are a modest team and do not tend to do much of note. No on expects them to even compete to qualify for a major international competition. They are ranked 52nd in the world. As of 2022, they are the only CONMEBOL side to have never qualified for the FIFA World Cup.

Fernando Batista’s side are fourth in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONMEBOL) table at the moment with nine points from six matches. They are in one of the automatic spots for the World Cup and have the likes of Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay and Chile below them in the table.

Venezuela last played in November. They played out a goalless draw with Ecuador at home and drew 1-1 with Peruz in Lima in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONMEBOL).

Team News:

Venezuela will have Rafael Romo, Joel Graterol, Yordan Osorio, Carlos Vivas, Jhon Murillo, Matias Lacava, Jan Hurtado and Jhonder Cadiz.

Italy are one of the biggest footballing nations in the world. They have been hugely successful in the past and the present and have a very strong team. Gli Azzurri have won the World Cip as many as four times and the European Championship twice.

Luciano Spalletti’s side will play in the UEFA Euro 2024 finals this summer. Italy finished second in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group C with 14 points from eight matches. They finished six points behind group winners England and level on points with third-placed Ukraine.

Italy will take on Spain, Croatia and Albania in Group B at the UEFA Euro 2024 finals. They will use the current international break to warm up for the major event in the summer and will be keen on testing out their best team and the best formation.

Team News:

Italy have some of the best and most-well known players in their squad. Gianluigi Donnarumma, Guglielmo Vicario, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, Giorgio Scalvini, Destinity Udogie, Andrea Cambiaso, Jorginho, Manuel Locatelli, Federico Chiesa and Nicolo Zaniolo all are part of the team.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Italy have scored 12 goals in their last 5 games.
  • Italy have conceded 4 goals in their last 5 games.
  • Italy have won three of their last five games.
  • Venezuela have won two of their last five matches.
  • Venezuela have scored six goals in their last five matches.

Italy have a far superior team to Venezuela, and it would be a shock if they are unable to win against the South American team with ease.
