Premier League previews

Today promises to be a busy day of football with three games Premier League games taken place.

There is also a game on Monday night for us fans of the Premier League to get our teeth into. Sit back and enjoy!

Premier League newcomers Norwich host Stoke City in their first home game since returning to the top flight of English football, in Sundays early kick-off.

The Canaries earned a 1-1 draw at Wigan in their opening match of the Premier League season.

Stoke City also claimed a draw in their first game of the season, drawing 0-0 with Premier League title hopefuls Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium. Both sides will see this as a winnable game. If Norwich are to survive in the Premier League then they’ll have to turn Carrow Road into a fortress.

Wolves host Fulham at Molineux after a good 2-1 victory at Blackburn in their opening Premier League game of the season. The home side have lost just once in their last five Premier League games and will be confident of another victory against Fulham

The visitors started their Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at Craven Cottage. Fulham reputation as bad travellers has been transformed after the club won the last two away games without conceding a goal.

The Cottagers however had previously won just one out of their previous 35 away days before gaining the two victories.

The two teams who enjoyed the biggest wins last weekend meet at the Reebok Stadium in the last game of the day, as Bolton host Manchester City. Bolton enjoyed the rarity of being top of the Premier League table for a week after winning 4-0 at newcomers QPR.

Bolton have been tipped by some as relegation candidates this season but Trotters boss Owen Coyle has built a solid team with a good work ethic. And they look determined to do well this season.

Manchester City hosted another top flight newcomer Swansea and won by the same margin as Bolton. One of the highlights of the City display was a superb cameo by big money signing Sergio Aguero. The Argentinian came off the bench to score a brace and create another for David Silva.

It seems that the 23 year-old is sure to start the game at the Reebok Stadium. The result will no doubt depend on how Gary Cahill and co. can manage the striker.

The last game of this round is on Monday night. Manchester United host Tottenham at Old Trafford. The Champions got their Premier League campaign off to a good start with a hard earned 2-1 victory at West Brom last Sunday.

Tottenham have yet to kick a ball in Premier League this season. Their home game with Everton last weekend was called off due to last weeks riots in London. They did however play Scottish club Hearts in midweek in the Europa League and were in devastating form as they won 5-0 at Tynecastle.

This could be the game of the weekend with both clubs having high hopes for the season. Manchester United will be again be hoping to claim the Premier League title and Tottenham are hoping to challenge for a place in the top four. This should be an intriguing encounter of two of the best attacking teams in the top flight.
