Quick Report: Poland 1-1 Slovenia

Poland have begun their World Cup qualifying campaign with a rather disappointing home draw with Slovenia.

The Polish, who made an appearance at the recent European Championships, took the lead after just sixteen minutes when Zewlakow scored from the penalty spot.

But the Slovenians refused to give up and equalised through Dedic in the 34th minute.

Poland, led by manager Leo Beenhakker, have been unable to win in the last six matches, including three Euro 2008 group phase games and two friendlies.

These two teams share Group 3 with Slovakia, the Czech Republic, San Marino and Northern Ireland.
