Ramos: “Spurs chose money over football”

Juande Ramos has accused Tottenham of prioritising money over success during his time at White Hart Lane. “The club sold Berbatov and Keane and everything went down,” said Ramos in The Sun. “They preferred money ahead of competitiveness”.

Ramos thinks about his experience with Tottenham: “It was short but intense. To play and win the Carling Cup final in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley singing the national anthem and against a great team like Chelsea was extraordinary”.

    I fully agree with Ramos. I have been saying this myself all along. Rather than build the team up to a consistent level, we have been more interested in the money-making business. The resulting frequent changes in the squad has had an unsettling effect.
