Redknapp ready to offer Modric new deal

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists the club should offer Croatia midfielder Luka Modric a new contract.

The former Dinamo Zagreb ace’s contract with Spurs expires in 2013, but the midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks.

Modric has previously admitted he is ready to sign a new deal at White Hart Lane.

“If I was the chairman I would certainly be looking to tie him up as soon as we can because he is an amazing footballer,” said Redknapp.
