Roma and Benfica eye Demarai Gray on free transfer

AS Roma and Benfica are interested in signing Leicester City winger Demarai Gray on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that Italian club Roma and Portuguese giants Benfica are keen on talking to Gray about a potential move.

Gray is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season and has reportedly indicated that he does not want to extend his spell at the Foxes. The 24-year-old winger will be able to sign a pre-contract with any foreign club in January. AS Monaco are also reportedly interested in the former England Under-21 international.

The winger has been at Leicester since 2016, but his playing time under manager Brendan Rodgers has been limited. According to WhoScored, Gray has played just 18 minutes in the Premier League so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he made three starts and 18 minutes in the league.
