Roma keen on former Celtic striker

Roma are interested in signing former Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, according to the Dutchman’s agent.

The Giallorossi can sign the 30-year-old on a free transfer as his contract with Celtic expired this summer.

“Roma? Yes, I’ve heard something about that,” agent Karel Jansen told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“Personally I have never been contacted by them. Obviously it would be a very nice destination, it is a great club.

“Although the player is free of contractual obligations, and can therefore be registered after the market closes, we want to find him a club quite quickly, because he needs to play.”
