Great news for England today as Manchester United have announced that Wayne Rooney is likely to be fit for England’s World Cup qualifiers at home to Kazakhstan on 11 October and away to Belarus four days later.
Rooney is a doubt for United’s game against Blackburn this weekend but should be fit to join up with Fabio Capello’s squad. He had looked to be very doubtful after being stretchered off during United’s Champions League win at Aalborg on Tuesday.
Rooney has just started to like recapturing some of his best form after scoring an excellent goal for United at the weekend against Bolton and then scoring his second of the season at Aalborg.
