Sub-20 World Champions Argentina have been held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Colombia at the South American championships in Venezuela.

Not even a minute had been played when Marcos Perez gave Colombia an early lead and the player went on to slam home a second in minute 22.

But a strike from Leandro Velasquez gave the Argentinians new hope in the 34th minute and Eduardo Salvio equalised with a header on 52 minutes.

Colombia were actually the better side in the second half but no more goals were scored.

Argentinia face Ecuador in their last Round 1 match on Tuesday, with Colombia set to meet with hosts Venezuela.
