Uruguay are practically through to the second round of the Sudamericano Sub 20 championship thanks to a 3-2 win over Chile, for whom it was their first game of the tournament.

The opening phase of the match played in Puerto Ordaz certainly was hectic. Tabare Viudez put the Uruguayans ahead in the very first minute but Charles Aranguiz equalised four minutes later and another four were needed for Chile to even take the lead as Boris Sagredo converted a penalty.

But Alejandro Peña scored for 2-2 shortly before the break and Santiago Garcia made it 3-2 with 20 minutes to play.

With six points from two games, Uruguay are almost certain of a spot in the next round.
