Schalke have been searching for their new right-back for a while and now they have finally found their solution. They signed Jean-Claire Todibo on a six-month loan from Barcelona in order to help them solve their defensive problems. This is an interesting deal, not only because Schalke will pay 1.5 million euros for this loan, but also because of the clauses inserted into the deal.
If Schalke are satisfied with Todibo, they could sign the young Frenchman this summer for 25 million euros plus five million in add-ons. If that happens and Todibo shines, then Barcelona will have another clause that could help them out – if all of that happens, they would be able to bring Todibo back to Camp Nou in a deal worth 50 million euros plus another 10 in add-ons.
Still, all of that is far away from now and for Todibo it will be more important to get regular playing time, after featuring in just three matches for Barcelona this season.
