Sergio Reguilon to go back to Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester United

Manchester United have decided to send Sergio Reguilon back to his parent club Tottenham Hotspur, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist has reported on X that United have activated the break clause in the contract and have informed Reguilon that they will no longer have him in their squad.

Reguilon joined United on a season-long loan deal from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer of 2023. The former Real Madrid left-back has failed to make a huge impact at Old Trafford and has also had injury issues. The 27-year-old has made four starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils this season.

Manchester United are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 31 points from 20 matches, nine points behind fourth-placed Arsenal. Meanwhile, Tottenham currently find themselves fifth in the standings with 39 points from 20 games, six points behind leaders Liverpool.
