Southampton reject Liverpool bid for Lovren

Southampton have rejected a £20m bid from Liverpool for defender Dejan Lovren, according to the Metro.

Last season’s Premier League runners-up have already completed deals for the Croatia international’s former Saints teammates Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, and they are keen to continue strengthening ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

Lovren moved to St Mary’s twelve months ago, and he scored twice in thirty-one appearances last season as the South Coast club achieved an eighth place finish.

The 24 year old will move attempt to force through a move, despite having three years remaining on his current deal.

Southampton have also lost Luke Shaw this summer, after the teenager secured a big money move to Manchester United while Morgan Schneiderlin, who is currently with France preparing for their World Cup quarter final against Germany, could also be on his way out of the club with Arsenal and Napoli waiting in the wings.
