Spurs join race for Schmeichel

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has reportedly joined the race to sign Notts County goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the summer.

Redknapp is keen to sign the 23-year-old keeper in a £2million deal and loan him back to Notts County.

Spurs will reportedly face competition from Premier League rivals such as Birmingham and Blackburn Rovers.

County boss Steve Cotterill said: “I don’t want to get rid of Kasper but he will get snapped up.”

Schmeichel is expected to leave County this summer as they cannot afford his massive £13,000-a-week wages.
