Stuttgart, Boulahrouz: A game at a time

Stuttgart bounced back well from their 4-0 drubbing at Bremen, deservedly beating league leaders Hertha BSC 2-0 at home on Saturday. VfB defender Khalid Boulahrouz spoke with bundesliga.de about that match and the club’s aims for the season.

“We showed the kind of determination again which you need to win a game in the Bundesliga. We stuck close on our opponents and didn’t allow them to unfold their own game. You need total commitment to win a game like that, and on the day we showed it”.

“We put in a lot of hard work during the week and our coach prepared us perfectly for the game. We’ve just got to keep looking ahead. A loss like the one at Bremen is always a possibility, what’s important is that you’re properly motivated afterwards. We set out our stall against Hertha, now we have to carry on in that fashion”.
