Trippier linked with Spurs switch

Tottenham Hotspur look set to win the race to sign Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier, according to the Telegraph.

The 24 year old played all but five minutes of the Claret’s 2014/15 Premier League campaign, and despite being unable to help guide them to top-flight safety, gained rave reviews for a number of his performances.

He moved to Turf Moor initially on loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2011, and has turned out for them one hundred and eighty-five times in all competitions in total, scoring six goals while he has also had a loan spell at Barnsley.

Newly-promoted Bournemouth and Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the former England U21 international but it is Spurs, who finished one place and two points above the Reds in the table, who are leading the chase with a £3.5m bid expected to be made by the North London club in the coming weeks.
