Valladolid take Almeria defender on loan

Real Valladolid have completed the signing of Almeria’s Brazilian defender Guilherme Oliveira Santos on a season long loan. The transfer however does not include the option to purchase the player’s services on a permanent basis at the end of the loan.

Left back Guilherme, 22, is a product of Vasco da Gama’s youth set up. He joined Almeria from Vasco in 2008.

Guilherme revealed that he had offers to return to his native Brazil but chose to stay on in Spain as the level of football in the Iberian national was at a higher level.

Valladolid were relegated from La Liga last season but are one the favourites to get promoted from the Segunda Division in the 10/11 season.
