It is highly unlikely that Manchester UnitedÂ’s striker Wayne Rooney will play this weekend against West Ham United at Old Trafford in a crucial Premier League encounter.
He missed TuesdayÂ’s UEFA Champions League encounter against FC Barcelona because of a hip injury that he picked up last Saturday in the Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that he could put him on the bench but he really did not want to as he was not keen to rush the English striker back into football in case he aggravated the injury.
Defender Nemanja Vidic, who missed the FC Barcelona match due to a facial injury and concussion, will also not be fit in time for tomorrowÂ’s match.
