Manchester United suffered a somewhat surprising defeat against Leeds United at Old Trafford on Monday, with two first-half goals from Noah Okafor giving the visitors a substantial lead.
In the 56th minute, Lisandro Martinez was sent off for pulling the hair of Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a decision that sparked outrage from United boss Michael Carrick. The Argentinian defender will now miss the crucial game against Chelsea on Saturday.
Casemiro netted for the hosts later, but it proved no more than a bit of consolation.
Here’s what Carrick said about Martinez receiving his red card.
“We are disappointed and did not agree with it” 🗣️
