Wenger keen to keep hold of Jenkinson

Arsene Wenger will not sell full-back Carl Jenkinson this summer, according to the Mail Online.

The 23 year old joined West Ham United on a season long loan from Arsenal last summer, and has impressed in his thirty-three appearances in all competitions.

Prior to his temporary switch to Upton Park, the defender had turned out fifty-seven times for the Gunners, while he scored his one and only senior goal so far in a 2-0 win at Norwich City in the final league game of last season.

With Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin all ahead of him in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, Jenkinson’s first team opportunities are limited though Wenger is reluctant to lose him permanently, though another loan move next season is on the cards.

Arsenal continue their pursuit of second place on Monday evening against Swansea City, with the FA Cup finalists priced at 3/10 for the win.
