West Brom 8/13 to beat Barnsley and over 1.5 goals for Tuesday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: West Brom win and over 1.5 goals

Odds: 8/13 @ Bet 365

Already holding a two-point buffer at the top of the Championship, West Brom will welcome relegation scrappers Barnsley to the Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 1-0 win away at Middlesbrough over the weekend, West Brom have suddenly played themselves into pole position to secure a Premier League return next summer. Holding a two-point buffer over the chasing pack and really starting to shine since appointing former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic, the mood around the Hawthorns continues to rise. A huge part of the Baggies stellar start to the new campaign has come down to some lethal showings in the final third. With no side in England’s second-tier finding the net more that Tuesday’s hosts, West Brom have also scored four goals in back-to-back matches on home soil.

As for the visitors, while Barnsley may have managed to battle back and clinch a point off of Swansea over the weekend, Adam Murray’s men still find themselves sat at the foot of the table. Failing to pick up a single victory since the opening weekend back in August, a huge part of their continued struggles have come down to some worrying displays outside of South Yorkshire. Putting in a season-worst display and shipping five against Preston in their last contest on the road, the Reds have lost four of their last five matches away from Oakwell and have not recorded an away victory in their last 11 matches away at Championship opposition.
