West Ham and Arsenal eye Manchester City centre-back John Stones

West Ham United and Arsenal are interested in signing John Stones from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Citizens could sell the former Everton central defender for £20 million.

Stones worked with current West Ham manager David Moyes when he was at Everton, and a move to the London Stadium could suit both the club and the player. The England international central defender has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, and with Nathan Ake reportedly set to join Pep Guardiola’s side from Bournemouth, it is going to become ever tougher for the 26-year-old to play regular first-team football next season.

Arsenal have a number of central defenders already on their books, and David Luiz having recently signed a new contract to stay at the Emirates Stadium next season, Stones would face the same problem at the Gunners as he does now at City.
