West Ham United interested in Rangers left-back Borna Barisic

West Ham United are interested in signing Borna Barisic from Rangers in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that the Premier League club are on the hunt for a new left-back next month and have identified the 28-year-old as a potential transfer target.

Aaron Cresswell is the main left-back at West Ham and faces competition from Arthur Masuaku under normal circumstances. However, Masuaku underwent knee surgery this month and is likely to be out for a lengthy period of time. This has prompted West Ham to look for a new left-back to provide competition for Cresswell.

Barisic is one of the best left-backs in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the Rangers team. It is hard to see manager Steven Gerrard to sell the Croatia international in the middle of a season in which they could win the Scottish Premiership title.
