West Ham United want to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha

West Ham United are interested in signing Joao Palhinha from Fulham in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. The report has claimed that West Ham are preparing for life without England international midfielder Declan Rice and have identified Palhinha as their top target to replace him.

The Hammers reportedly feel that Palhinha is the perfect replacement for Rice at London Stadium. West Ham also reportedly believe that them playing in the UEFA Europa League next season will enhance their chances of convincing the 27-year-old Portugal international defensive midfielder to make the move across London.

Aston Villa are also claimed to be keen on Palhinha, according to Football Insider, who have added that Fulham are desperate to keep hold of him and will demand between £50 million and £60 million. Joao Palhinha scored three goals in 35 appearances in the Premier League for the Villans this past season.
