West Ham want former Newcastle striker Luuk de Jong

West Ham United are interested in signing former Newcastle United striker Luuk de Jong from Sevilla in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. It has been reported that the Hammers are looking for a new striker, and that the London club could now move for De Jong.

Spanish club Sevilla are on the verge of signing Rafa Mir from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window. The La Liga outfit will pay the Premier League club £12 million in transfer fee for Mir. This means that De Jong could become available, and West Ham could make a move.

De Jong made 14 starts and 20 substitute appearances in La Liga for Sevilla last season, scoring four goals in the process. The 30-year-old Netherlands international striker made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League for the Spanish club last season, scoring two goals in the process.
