West Ham want Manchester City’s Nathan Ake on loan

West Ham United are interested in signing Nathan Ake from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Hammers are considering making a loan bid for the Netherlands international central defender.

Kurt Zouma has suffered a long-term hamstring injury. The former Chelsea central defender will not play again for West Ham until March. So the Hammers are looking for a short-term replacement and want to bring in Ake from defending Premier League champions City.

Ake is a versatile defender who can operate as a centre-back or as a left-back. The 26-year-old has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for City so far this season. Ake has made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League for Pep Guardiola’s side this campaign.
