Champions Wisla Krakow are the only of Poland’s top four teams to win their match this weekend and lead the table of the Ekstraklasa with a two-point advantage over the Warsaw coalition – Legia and Polonia.

Wisla hosted Piast Gliwice and two goals in the added time of both the first and second half gave them a save win. Top scorer Pawel Brozek, who has scored six goals this season, announced that he wouldn’t leave the club until the end of the season. Earlier this week, Wisla had former Feyenoord and Inverness goalkeeper Zbigniew Malkowski on trial.

Leaders Polonia Warsaw lost two points in a draw with Cracovia. The visiting team opened the score after just three minutes. The equalizer came five minutes after the break. The second Warsaw team, Legia, couldn’t live up to expectations and their visit to LKS Lodz ended in a goalless draw.

Lech Poznan, the only remaining Polish team in the European competitions, lost 2-0 to Ruch Chorzow after a poor display. Lech are currently sixth on the table, four points behind the leaders.

Famous Henryk Kasperczak still can’t help bottom-placed Gornik Zabrze. They won only one point in four matches and recently were defeated 1-0 at Lechia Gdansk.

Surprisingly high in the table are two underestimated teams – Slask Wroclaw and Belchatow who defeated Arka Gdynia and Polonia Bytom, respectively. Both games ended in 2-1. Odra Wodzislaw’s match against Jagiellonia Bialystok ended in a 1-1 draw.
