Wolves eye Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Christian Benteke from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun. The former Liverpool striker is out of contract at Palace at the end of next season, while Wolves are on the hunt for a new striker this summer.

Fabio Silva has left Wolves for Belgian club Anderlecht on a season-long loan deal, and the Wanderers want to replace him in the team. Thus head coach Bruno Lage is looking at bringing in Benteke from Palace.

Benteke made 11 starts and 14 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Palace last season, scoring four goals and providing one assist in the process. The 31-year-old Belgium international striker scored 86 goals and created 33 big chances in 280 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
