Palermo have completed the signing of young defender Matteo Darmian from AC Milan in a co-ownership deal. The Sicilian club had begun negotiations with Milan a week ago and have now successfully managed to bring the player to Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Darmian is a product of the Milan youth system and spent the 2009-10 season on loan at Serie B club Padova. He made twenty appearances for the Biancoscudati last season and also managed to score one goal.

Darmian was part of the Italian UEFA Euro 2008 U-19 Championship squad. He has also been capped by Italy at U-21 level.

Darmian will now join Palermo’s pre-season training camp in Austria.
