Argentine duo on Barcelona radar

Barcelona are showing interest in La Liga defenders Federico Fazio and Mateo Musacchio, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalans boss Gerardo Martino is eager to add at least one centre-back to his ranks in the summer, and it appears he has already identified his targets.

Sevilla stopper Federico Fazio is reportedly the number one name on his wish list, with the 26-year-old having developed into one of league’s best defenders.

The Argentine may have extended his deal with los Rojiblancos until June 2018, but his release clause was lowered from €40m to mere €10m.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are keeping close tabs on Villarreal star Mateo Musacchio, who is also seen as a great prospect for the future.

The 23-year-old has so far made 130 league appearances for the Yellow Submarine and scored 3 goals in the process.

And even if Musacchio is considered a key member of the side at El Madrigal, chairman Fernando Roig recently admitted the club would consider offers for their star player.
