Aston Villa are interested in signing midfielder Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke said: “That’ll be key to Bergvall’s future, whether Tottenham stay up in the Premier League, which they’re battling to do.
“I’m sure they’ll have no intention of parting ways with the Sweden international. They see him as a long-term, key player for their future.
“He’s a young player and is under contract until 2031, so Spurs are under no pressure to sell him, especially if they stay up.”
Villa are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 58 points from 34 matches, eight points above sixth-placed Brighton and Hove Albion. Meanwhile, Tottenham currently find themselves third from bottom in the standings with 34 points from 34 matches, two points behind 17th-placed West Ham United.
