Competition: Championship

In what could prove to be an enjoyable Championship showdown on Saturday afternoon, Norwich will welcome Swansea to Carrow Road.
Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have been left frustrated earlier in the month as they slumped to a 2-0 loss against arch-rivals Ipswich, it appears that was just a minor blip for Philippe Clement’s side. Last seen earlier in the week securing a 2-1 victory at home against Derby, the Canaries are clearly relishing life under the former Rangers boss. Although the Norfolk-based outfit might know that it would take an almighty upset if they are to punch a shock play-off ticket, Norwich find the mood in their camp at a real high. Including a thrilling 4-2 win away at Bristol City on April 18th, Clement’s side have lost just a trio of their previous 15 matchups against Championship opposition – a run that stems back to the end of January. However, it should be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have claimed just a sole clean sheet from their last seven attempts. Likewise, Norwich have come away unscathed at Carrow Road on just a single occasion over the past couple of months.
As for the visitors, making an immediate return to winning ways last time out as they secured a dramatic 2-1 victory away at QPR, Swansea will be looking to use that impressive display as a platform to build on. However, essentially sat in Championship limbo, Vitor Matos’ side are desperately searching for some essential stability over the final couple of weeks. Marking their return from March’s international break with a thrilling 3-3 stalemate against Sheffield United, Saturday’s guests have won just a pair of their previous seven Championship appearances. Much like the Canaries, Swansea have shown their own glaring defensive issues on either side of March’s fortnight interval. Including a nightmare 3-0 drumming at home against newly-crowned champions Coventry last month, Matos’ men have mustered just a sole clean sheet from their previous eight straight outings. It should also be noted, five of the last six meetings between Saturday’s opponents have finished with over 2.5 goals.
