Bassong will not be leaving Spurs

French defender Sebastien Bassong insists he has no plans of leaving Tottenham, despite of the strong competition for places at White Hart Lane.

Michael Dawson has taken over as Harry Redknapp’s preferred partner to William Gallas. Younes Kaboul is also reportedly ahead of Bassong in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Bassong has recently been linked with a move to French side Paris St Germain.

“I will stay at Tottenham. I am one of the Spurs,” he told Le Figaro.

“When we see our forthcoming (games) with the Premier League and Champions League, it’s motivating.

“I have had approaches from other clubs but this is outdated now. It is the past.

“When you play little, you ask yourself questions, ideas go through your head, but here everything is clear.”
