As David Beckham’s newly established club Inter Miami gradually prepare for life in the MLS, German outlet Bild report that one of their biggest transfer targets would be Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.
Ozil’s future has been the subject of much speculations recently, with various reports claiming he had no place in the Arsenal team that’s being constructed under the command of Unai Emery, especially after his omission from the squad altogether for the Carabao Cup defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur. On the other hand, Emery responded to such claims by saying Ozil remains a very important player for Arsenal, and not only reinstating him to the starting XI for the Premier League win over Burnley on Saturday, but giving him the captain’s armband too.
Other reports claimed that Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for the former Germany international due to his enormous wages, but Emery simply replied by saying Ozil’s salary is of no interest to him.
Inter Miami won’t be joining the MLS before 2020, and Bild believe Ozil iz set to remain at the Emirates until that moment comes. But then, he would likely be tempted to end his playing days in sunny Florida.
