Bolton re-sign Cardiff’s Mason on loan

Cardiff City striker Joe Mason has joined Championship side Bolton Wanderers on loan for the second time this season, Sky Sports understands.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international played eight times for the Trotters at the turn of the year, with his last appearances coming in the 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day, while his only goal for the club came in a 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Doncaster Rovers back in December.

Mason was a first team regular in the Bluebirds’ Championship winning season of 2012/13, but hasn’t featured at all in the Premier League, with his only outings for the South Wales side this season coming in the cup competitions.

He re-joins a Bolton side who sit just six points above the relegation zone in the second tier, and is priced at 13/2 to open the scoring in what is set to be his second debut for the club, against Watford on Saturday afternoon.
