Burnley eye Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan

Burnley are interested in signing Mohamed Simakan from Strasbourg in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Premier League club are planning to make a bid of £15 million for the 20-year-old defender.

According to the report, Burnley scouts have been impressed with the 20-year-old, and manager Sean Dyche has been urged to make a move for the talented and promising young defender when the window opens in January. AC Milan reportedly made a late move for the youngster in the summer transfer window, while West Ham United also consider a £9 million bid.

Simakan has been on the books of Strasbourg since 2017 and has established himself as an important player for the French club. According to WhoScored, the Frenchman has played six times in Ligue 1 so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he made 17 starts and two substitute appearances in the league.
