Championship duo linked with Iwobi move

Championship duo Birmingham City and Reading are set to battle for the services of Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi, according to the Mirror.

The nineteen year old, who is the nephew of former Bolton Wanderers man Jay-Jay Okocha, made his senior Gunners debut as they crashed out of the League Cup to Sheffield Wednesday last month.

He has since made his first appearances in both the Premier League and the Champions League, but looks set to move away from the Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis in order to get to regular first team football.

Internationally despite featuring for England at U16, U17 and U18 levels he has won two caps for Nigeria, with both of this outings so far coming as a substitute in friendlies against Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He was also an unused substitute in the Super Eagles’ recent World Cup qualification double-header with Swaziland.
