Doyle coy on permanent QPR switch

Kevin Doyle has played down his chances of making his loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Championship promotion hopefuls Queens Park Rangers permanent, TalkSport understands.

The Republic of Ireland international moved to Loftus Road last month until the end of the season, after Hoops’ top scorer Charlie Austin was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a shoulder injury.

He scored seven minutes into his debut – the 3-3 draw with Burnely – earlier this month, while fellow new loan signing Modibo Maiga bagged the equaliser and while Doyle is hopeful that the pair, along with Will Keane who was brought in from Manchester United, can help fill the void left by Austin’s absence.

QPR are currently third in the second tier, three points behind second place Burnley and a further eight off leaders Leicester City.

They host Reading on Sunday afternoon, and can be backed at 1/1 to take all three points.
