Inter want PSG defender; Gaitan’s release clause to stay unchanged

hot-transfer-newsInter want PSG defender

Inter Milan are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain full-back Gregory van der Wiel, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

It is no secret that Roberto Mancini is far from happy with his current options at right-back that include Davide Santon, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Martin Montoya.

And with at least two of them set to leave in January, the Nerazzurri have set their sights on PSG full-back Gregory van der Wiel.

The Netherlands international is growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of first team action seeing that he currently plays second fiddle to Serge Aurier.

Taking also into account that his current deal expires at the end of the season, a January exit appears on the cards.

Inter have reportedly contacted the player’s agent Mino Raiola with a view of luring van der Wiel to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza at the earliest opportunity.

Gaitan’s release clause to stay unchanged

Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo has learned that Nicolas Gaitan’s release clause will remain at €35 million even if the Argentine signs a new deal.

Even though Benfica were ready to cash in on their prized asset, there were not clubs ready to match their asking price in the summer.

As a result, Nicolas Gaitan remained at Estadio da Luz and the Eagles are now set to offer him a new and improved deal.

But, while the club representatives and the player’s agent Jose Iribarren will negotiate on the terms of the contract, the two parties have a verbal agreement to keep the €35 million release clause unchanged.

Both sides agree that this is a fair valuation of Gaitan’s qualities and it only remains to be seen whether any of the interested sides will decide to match it.

The 27-year-old, who has almost three years left on his current deal, has so far managed 33 goals and 73 assists in 223 appearances for Benfica.

Besiktas eyeing Jardel

Benfica central defender Jardel Nivaldo Vieira is being mentioned as a possible target for Besiktas.

The Turkish giants have climbed to the top of the Super Lig standings and aim to further reinforce the squad in the winter, hoping to stay there come end of the season.

And with the team conceding in four straight matches ahead of weekend’s win over Rizespor, it appears that coach Senol Gunes is in the market for defensive reinforcements.

According to Record, Besiktas are keeping close tabs on Benfica stopper Jardel and could make their interest concrete in January.

The 29-year-old has been at Estadio da Luz since January 2011, but he only nailed down a regular starting berth last season.

After scoring 4 goals in 31 league outings last term, Jardel went on to start four league fixtures this season as well as two Champions League games.
