Leverkusen confirm Bayern approach for Havertz

Bayer Leverkusen confirmed something that many have suspected – Kai Havertz was on the radar of several European clubs this summer, including Bayern Munich! Club’s sporting director Rudi Voller has announced on Monday this was the case and confirmed the rumours in the media – there were enquiries about signing the brilliant youngster from their ranks.

Bayern Munich were heavily linked with a potential move for the 20-year-old midfielder, with reports starting as early as June. Some reports even claimed the Bavarian club had offered 90m for the versatile midfielder, but in the end that was not true. Clubs like Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United were also linked with Havertz, but Voller did not confirm on any of those names.

He said that Karl-Heinz Rummenige did contact him and made an enquiry about the availability of Havertz, but he also confirmed such offer was easily refused. Voller said he explained that Havertz is not for sale this summer.
