Man Utd and Monaco vying for Filipe Luis

Catalan daily El Mundo Deportivo understands that Manchester United and Monaco are locked in the battle for Atletico Madrid full-back Filipe Luis.

The Red Devils have identified the Brazilian as a perfect replacement for Patrice Evra, who looks set to leave the club when his deal expires in the summer.

Meanwhile, Monaco are desperate to sign a high-quality left-back in the summer and they, too, plan to make a move on Luis.

The 28-year-old has developed into one of La Liga’s top full-backs since arriving at Atletico from Deportivo La Coruna and he even managed to break into the Brazil national team.

Los Colchoneros are not interested in selling their prized asset, but it is believed they won’t be able to resist a big money offer.

Filipe Luis has so far featured in 114 La Liga fixtures for Atletico, and he has managed 2 goals and 8 assists in the process.
